Farm to Table

What exactly does that term mean, anymore???

Initially this term was created to start a movement of buying and eating from small local farms that were close to you and your table.

Logic however would dictate that almost everything you eat is esentially “farm to table”. That farm may be in the small town outside your city, it may also be 10,000 miles away. It could be a small family run organic farm, it could also be a huge industrialized farm supplied with Monsanto seeds, or housing thousands of animals in deplorible conditions.

Savvy marketers and unscrupulous retailers sometimes use the phrase now to describe what ever they are selling and do so without regard for its original intention. They can do this because technically it is not a lie, it’s just manipulative.

Do not be fooled by catch phrases developed to reel you in. I am not here to tell you what to eat and from where, but if you are concerned about it, do your homeowrk and do not rely on marketing and advertisers to do it for you.
